Halfbrick Sports: Football

I love this game so much that it’s so sad looking at the small amount of people that play it they just rather play other games that I can’t understand what’s so good about it but not everyone has the same taste.

I love halfbrick crossovers and there’s potential for this one and I think the groundwork is solid, just needs a lot of improvement. My main issue is with the progression and unlockables. There’s very little incentive to keep playing. The only unlockable characters are behind a subscription pay wall and the only collectibles are unlocked through experience level ups. A big change I would make to fix this is a currency system that can buy packs that include consumables, emotes, and new characters instead of money grabbing through a lackluster subscription service. Additionally, only 8 characters is pretty barebones, I hope they add plenty of characters through consistent updates. As far as gameplay goes, my main complaint is a lack of variation in matches. Add fun variant modes like obstacles, speed up and slow down traps, and most importantly give each character something unique so there’s a reason to pick one character over the other. If they all had something special going for them there would be a reason to try to get them all and experiment with how they interact with each other and in different modes. The gameplay is fairly fun so far, it’s just too simple as of now to be successful for more than a month. Halfbrick has the resources to invest in this games future, I just hope they don’t quit on it too soon like they did with Battle Stars Racing. (PS: Love that you added a little love for Fish Out of Water, add more! Olympus as a playable character and a water-themed field would be amazing!)

Really enjoyed the pace of the game although I need to find a quick way to improve: some players are really good 😄 I might need to become a defender and support the team!
