GolfFix AI Golf Swing Analyzer

As a newer golfer, I’ve found the Golf Fix app to be incredibly helpful in identifying areas where my swing needs improvement. The swing analysis feature is especially valuable, allowing me to pinpoint issues and track my progress. The drills are great too, offering targeted ways to improve specific aspects of my game. While some are a bit advanced, I appreciate being able to pick and choose what to work on. That said, there are a few areas where the app could improve: Nag Screen: Every time I open the app, I’m greeted with a pop-up. Even though I can clear it for the day, it reappears every time I use the app. For a $100/year subscription, this feels unnecessary. A single announcement for new features would be enough. Swing Log Navigation: It’s frustrating that I can’t swipe through swing videos in the log. I have to click into a video, exit, and then click another. A swipe-to-scroll feature would make navigation much smoother. Drill and Video Export: While I can’t video drills (only swing analysis), I wish drills could be saved or exported for easy reference. Similarly, being able to export swing videos would simplify reviewing progress. Shareable Reports: The reports aren’t printable and don’t export to PDF which limits their usability. Adding a printable format would make it easier to review and share progress. Overall, I really like the app and regularly recommend it to others. It’s an excellent tool for improving my golf game, but a few quality-of-life updates would make it even better.

Overall the design of the app is very cool and the ability to see what is going on in your swing is very helpful. However, unless you are aware of what you are looking for, as far as mistakes go, in your swing, the overall point system and recommendations need some work. For example my swing was 8.6, however (to test the abilities of the app), I put in a video of Tiger Woods hitting an iron shot and it returned a 7.5. As well as a video of Rory which returned a 9.3. As much as I’d like to believe my swing is as good as Tiger’s (and relatively close to Rory’s) I can’t say I’m that delusional. I think if some of the bugs with the algorithm could be fixed for the recommendations that would take the app to the next level but don’t let it take away the fact that the overall analysis provided is a great tool in itself. Considering I’m relatively aware of what a great golf swing looks like, the slo mo analysis provided on my video was very helpful. I’m excited to see where this app goes. If I could give a more detailed rating (other than 4 vs 5 stars) I would personally give it 4.5.

I am actually a former golf instructor so I know a thing or two about the golf swing. This really is a great app for capturing your swing and being able to see an accurate representation of body angles necessary to understand your full range of motion. That being said, take some of the advice with a grain of salt. For example, in my golf swing I have a tendency to slightly straighten my back leg in the backswing; the app says this is a bad move… In reality, this is a move that modern teachers actually teach. A more rigid back leg, being a core principle of instruction in the 90s and early 2000s, actually limits your ability to fully turn in the backswing, and can lead to lower back issues over time. As long as you don’t take all the advice as gospel truth, this app really is a useful tool. Just take the time to do a little more research on what the app perceives as flaws.
