I stumbled across GoalMap looking for something else and thought it looked interesting enough to try. I am so glad that I did. It is my new accountability partner to keep me on track with my goals and projects. Admittedly, I am a fan of programs like this and have used many similar apps over the years but the clean interface, helpful analysis screens, and great price make GoalMap a clear standout for this kind of program.
Goal Map is no cookie cutter task manager or goal tracker. Goal Map has a unique take on goal tracking and task management. It thinks outside the box of most productivity apps, and does things significantly different. It allows you to free your mind from limited left brain todo lists mentality — and invites you to create an overview of what is most important to you — by first setting up goals, and then writing down the WHY you want it, a feature many goal trackers neglect. The WHY is the motivator, so why not have it on the forefront of your mind each day … as you review the goals that are important to you? That is what Goal Map allows you to do. Then with Goal Map you can begin to layout the action steps you want to take toward each step to actualize your goal and schedule them … not just on a day, but across a period of time — that you get to decide. I don’t know about you, but I’ve long been tired of seeing “Overdue” tasks from previous days that I didn’t act on —which happens in most todo list / task manager apps. For me it just leads to a feeling of overwhelm … and procrastination. I’d much rather set a task to a few days or week sometimes, so I’ll have it on my mind, but don’t feel I have to do it on one particular day. You can also set a time frame for Goals and sub-tasks as well. Some few wish lists … Larger text viewing options App wide search for quickly finding tasks and sub-tasks Goal categories (or tags) > one level more for organization / grouping goals Drawing / sketch support for goals, tasks and sub-tasks (iOS) Image and file attachments for goals, tasks and sub-tasks Header sections for adding further organization to Goals (like Things does for Projects) Be able to see and check of sub-tasks on Apple Watch app as well as task and sub-task descriptions(notes) Tags for tasks and sub-tasks — for when you want to act on them in a particular context (like on your #Mac) Well done. I think you have a winner on your hands. Hope to see Goal Map actively developed long into the future …
Beautiful app wrapped in a bow Really like this app. It’s got a beautiful interface and smart, useful features you don’t find very often in task manager type apps. Favorite aspects Multi-level subtask with drag and drop for reorganizing Multi-day goals, tasks and subtasks Excellent responsive Apple Watch app Integrated task timing and quantitative counter for each task and sub-task with cumulative totaling Day Summary — a place to add notes or a journal entry for the day with an optional image attachment A generous selection of beautiful app icons to chose from Wish List Option to see Review Notes (from Summary) at the top of Today’s Tasks Today’s Review Notes displayed on Apple Watch app Inbox 📥 for quick thoughts or tasks you want to add to goals later. Ideally this shows up on Apple Watch app too and allows you to add new tasks from your watch Few Colored themes for UI — perhaps a few nice pastels for the UI background color (soft green, yellow, orange, pink, etc) — in addition to the nice default purplish-blue background color Clickable URLs in description and note fields (including callback URLs) — or a dedicated url field for tasks Option to increase text size — especially on the Mac version Be able to modify done/completed dates of tasks Display creation/modification date of goals, tasks and sub-tasks Thank you for creating this lovely app. Really helps with focusing on goals — on what is really important to you and motivates you to take daily action to bring them into fruition, which is something you don’t find in most task managers.
