I’m complaining because the company advertised within the app exactly as follows: “To increase your Stream access amount, you need to successfully pay back your withdrawals on time. An "on time" payback means Stream successfully receives your repayment via direct deposit within 21 days of your withdrawal. Keep your direct deposit connected and ensure sufficient funds are available on payday to grow your access amount as quickly as possible!” However, it conveniently leaves out that this only includes when you withdraw onto your debit card and they take $9 and some change out of your withdrawal, so you withdraw a lesser amount while being required to pay them in full. It doesn’t include free ACH withdrawals, where you can actually get all of what you try to borrow and actually pay back what you use. The app also included a counter showing me that I had all of my needed repayments for an increase, only for the increase to never go through. I found out from support that it doesn’t count for the free withdrawals. You have to pay them to get the upgrade, which means they have to get almost $50 out of you first before they let you borrow an additional $45. That is deceptive. The ACH withdrawals always error out, so I can’t even borrow what my actual limit is half the time. 0/5.
This app is clearly a scam. I signed up, realize that it wasn’t exactly what I was looking for, and the app wasn’t really working, like it wouldn’t link my bank, or so I thought, and it wouldn’t connect to my payroll, so the next day after downloading it and making I emailed support to I did not want to use the service. Support returned an email saying I needed to pay $116 in order to close my account! I never received any money from them. I couldn’t even connect my payroll or my bank account. Except that somehow they’re taking money out of my mother’s account?! But when I open the app, the page opens and wants me to link a bank account and there’s no other option. I can’t click on anything else to get to a different page. I’m not going to pay the $116 for nothing I didn’t use their service. They’ve stolen money from my mom now. And yet tell me that I don’t have a bank account linked. Customer support is no help. We’ve reported it as a fraudulent charge to the bank and they’re investigating and said that it looks sure like it’s going to be determined fraudulent charge, we reported it to everybody we could think of to report it to and now I’m writing a review as a warning for people to not get tangled in this mess! It’s obviously not a reputable app/website if the bank is recognizing it as a charge!
Had an issue of where my money was going on checks that I didn’t use Stream for early wage access. You all just know if you have any account saved to your plaid account by your phone number that that is the account your funds you don’t use will be sent to. So if you have three accounts connected to plaid and one is a throw away account or your spouses account then the times you don’t use your early access your money could still go to that account when stream sends it back to you. It took one day and multiple emails back and forth but stream helped me figure out where my money was.
