Geotab Drive

I have found Geotab pretty simple to use. I love the way it automatically takes me out of driving when I stop and back in driving status once I start moving again. 2 hour violation warning reminder is handy. My only complaint is the safety reporting must be set to say speeding is anything over the speed limit, so going 58 in a 55 or 68 in a 65 shows me speeding all the time. I try to stay with traffic flow to avoid every vehicle on the road going around me as lane changes are accident opportunities.

Read all the reviews from actual drivers that uses this app. You feel like you live in 20th century while using this app recent update brought many connectivity issues and now drivers are complaining that screen is not staying on while they are driving and on duty. While DOT requires it to be on all the time while driving. After contacting gt developers, I had no answer about this issue, and I doubt it will be fixed in the near future. The only good it does is sending notification when vehicle hits a pot hole or a speed pump while driving. Also, it senses that the vehicle accelerating too fast at 70 mph. And bosses in the office believe that the driver was hitting the gas pedal hard and accelerating at incredibly fast speeds. Would you be testing your product more thoroughly and actually drive the different types of vehicles and in different conditions before selling it to your customers.

This app is decent but it fails to consistently do your splits properly without having to log out the app and verify(sign off) your time that same day and make you choose to go off duty just to sign out. When you sign back in, sometimes it will update your hours that previously didn’t show on your logs after completing a 8 hr split. Unfortunately the app fails at providing the new rules for DOT on the 7/3 split option which has been in effect for years. The developers need to fix their app to have your hours correct themselves without signing out and to correct the split time to where you aren’t just held to a standard 7/3. This correction will probably never happen this is why it’s only being temporarily used until I can stop by my company terminal to use their primary ELD. Get it together Geotab
