I love the way that Free Time prompts you to do something before unlocking an app you have blocked. my scrolling on instagram went way down immediately after downloading it. the only improvement i would suggest is that sometimes the blocked app doesn’t get locked the first time you switch back to Free Time using the notification, and you have to re-open or go back to Free Time for it to lock the app, but not a huge deal.
I cannot believe how quickly this app changed my social media habits and I’m so much calmer and more focused as a result. I used to struggle with checking my apps way too much, but now I’ve cut way back and am using them so much more intentionally. I appreciate the simple design, the gentle reminders, and how it doesn’t shame me for needing to check apps—which I need to do for my work. I’m recommending to so many friends!
I LOVE Free time. Since starting to use it, it’s got me using my phone so much more thoughtfully. And the problems are all just the right difficulty - hard enough to be annoying, easy enough to do. In just 3 weeks, I’ve become so much more regulated with my Instagram use, that I’ve added locks to all of my other troublesome apps. Thank you Free time for giving me more Free Time!!
