Frame Grabber

No question that this app makes quick work of scrolling through a video, finding the frame you want, then saving as a still photo. After saving it returns you to the selection screen, so it’s easy to scroll to another frame, export, etc. I was surprised and pleased after launching the app that it also finds all the Live Photos and allows you to quickly open, choose a frame, and export those too. Much faster than iOS’s native Photos app, which involves more steps and still saves all those extra frames to fill up your storage! BUT, when I viewed Info for the saved frame, the photo frame’s resolution was reduced to 2MP from my iPhone 13 Pro’s original 12MP. WOW! The loss of detail was huge! It seems to save Live Photo frames at the same size it saves video frames. At least, ask before shrinking — be up-front about making such a significant change , at least we’d know not to assume we were getting a real copy. I was getting ready to delete the originals to reclaim storage. I’m glad I checked image quality be for I took that step and lost those pixels for good. Why not just save Live Photo frames in their original resolution? Or give the option to choose what resolution to make the export— like you do to choose file format. Or just drop the Live Photo frame grabbing function and stick with videos. I’ll be cancelling my subscription before the 3-day trial ends, sorry to say. If the Live Photo export resolution problem is solved, I will reconsider. But I agree with others about one-time payment being a better match for a narrow function specialty app than subscription.

This app is really well made, it’s as simple as that, it’s visually pleasing, simple to navigate, and offers a solution to a problem many don’t even realize they have; the hallmarks of a successful application. The only recommendation I can give is to change the subscription model. Although I of course understand the incentive to switch to it in the beginning, since this app offers a better solution to something many already do (simply screenshooting a video) and is specific to that function, the subscription model will drive most people away and back to simple screenshotting, as at the moment it just isn’t the best value and the psychologic aspect of recurring payments will only harm that. I recommend implementing a one-time-purchase option for slightly more than the one year subscription ($25-$30 for example would be effective) and offering a monthly or yearly subscription model as a cheaper option. This option, although decreasing recurring payments, is very likely to bring more money in overall.

YAY!!!!!! You guys are awesome!!!! Thank you so much for restoring the folder view and timestamps!!! I've updated my rating back to 5 stars! I love this app.... at least, I used to. I use it A LOT, I've saved over 50k screenshots using it, and now it's practically useless. WHY? Did you get rid if the folder view and timestamp???? I have well over 1000 video clips and it was cake to find what I needed because I could just go to the folder it's in. Now I have to scroll and scroll and scroll and oh yay my hand is flaring up from all the scrolling... and crap, what did the thumbnail of the video I want look like? Nope that's not it... oh yay I get to scroll through everything all over again. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEAAAAASSSSEEEEEEEE! I'm begging you, PLEASE bring the ability to access folders back, for the love of everything holy.
