I love the app and really appreciate everything that’s on there and letting everything be none especially what’s cancer causing but there are more things that I look up that are not on here than that are and I’ve submitted a bunch of products with photos “front, back, left, right, top, and bottom but none of them have actually been submitted so I don’t know what’s going on there or why but would love for this to be looked into so I can further help the community of the world!! And future generations!! I have told numerous people about this app and online website and really want to help improve it and peoples health! Thank you for reading and may God our Father bless you and yours abundantly in Jesus name! God bless!
I use this app frequently. I’ve been using it to inform myself as much as possible about seed, oils, and the dangers from various seed oils. For those of you who are familiar with the Hateful 8 oils, this could be useful for you. It is also great for avoiding heavily processed foods, as I do now and try to only eat, minimally processed, or whole foods. And finally, I use it to try to detoxify my life as much as possible by making informed decisions about the cleaning products I purchase and personal care products use. If there is one category, I would like them to add it would be supplements( vitamins) because not all supplement and vitamin brands are equal, those owned by large pharmaceutical companies are less trustworthy. I can’t quite give it five stars because there seems to be an issue with the submissions, the submission date shows the current date you are looking at them. Also not all the submissions I’ve made seem to be on the list or they’ve since added them to the data base and have removed them? I am unsure if their process. But it is a great feature, allowing its members to submit products for review, still needs a little bit of work. Still needs more products added to their database, considering all that is out there it is very limited.
I downloaded this app to review products that are commonly promoted as being nontoxic or eco-friendly. In my opinion this app has a very misleading ranking system. There are four general categories on which an item is ranked (skin sensitivities, developmental/hormone disrupting, asthma causing, and environmentally conscious) based on these factors the product(s) ingredients are ranked on a scale A-F. For example, let’s take a laundry detergent for instance with 10 ingredients 8 of those ingredients are ranked A, 1 is ranked B, and the last ranked C. A average person would assume that the rating would perhaps be B, but the overall raking will be listed as C which for most people would automatically deem as “toxic or not safe.” Then they have their “EWG healthy living” approved products that have met strict standards… but let’s take another laundry detergent for instance that has 22 listed ingredients, 13 of the ingredients are ranked C, 5 are ranked B, and 4 are ranked A. Now of course the general rating for this product is not posted, but you could only assume it would not be higher than a C, but is given a “stamp of approval.” EWG claims that they break down each product by hazard and data availability, but the rankings to me don’t make much sense when the “bad” is outweighing the “good.” This app like a lot of other “health” apps need some work or need to have more information listed as to how and why the products are getting these specific rankings. As a consumer I would still do your own research and come to your own conclusions about what you believe is safe.
