Simple functions like photo/video updates and document storage from the school is good enough but the iOS UI is really REALLY painfully bad and the messaging function in particular is difficult to use and leaves a lot to be desired. The text field is so high up it runs under the iPhone camera and you can’t see what you’re typing as you write so it takes ten times as long to send a simple “running 10 minutes late” message to school staff who prefer this method to a phone call. Super frustrating to use for busy parents.
This app doesn’t seem to support basic push notifications, which would be great so that we could see when important updates are made by the school (messages, photos, etc.) Currently, I have to regularly check the app to see if I have missed anything.
This app is great for the simple stuff...photos videos, notifications. How it is used/organized is ultimately up to the teachers adding content. But, it seems unfinished otherwise. For example, the bottom of the photos page has a button ‘More’. I would expect more photos to load. Instead, the main menu opens up. And, there is a lot of redundancy. If the photo board and the videos page both have the same functionality, just combine them.
