I had the privilege of getting threatened of having my car insurance cancelled because the geniuses working at this company forgot to send me an email about setting up the box If you drive in an area of ‘high crash risk’ or drive at times of day which are also ‘high crash risk’ you will get marked down. Ive had two different black box companies, and they never had me for these two things. Awful and rude customer service, avoid this company at all costs.
Great app. Makes you wonder why all insurance companies don’t use this. Helps me but sometimes I forget I’ve got the app.
I used to have a black box installed in the dashboard of my car (both with privilege and with other companies), and always scored very highly for my driving on most aspects. However, since having to swap over to the mobile app my scores have completely changed for the worse and I can’t understand how or why. My phone automatically connects to my car’s Bluetooth when I get in, but even if I don’t answer any calls or listen to music (via the Bluetooth!) my mobile interaction score has still gone down? Don’t get me started on if I have to use Google maps on my phone! My smooth driving score always plummets if I get stuck in traffic, but how am I possibly supposed to know when and how to avoid this? My road risk seems to be low whichever route I take, and this is impossible to change as there are only a certain amount of ways that I can get to work? Do I take the motorway? Main roads? Add an extra hour into my journey by trying to find all the little back roads (which is likely impossible anyway because I work just outside the city centre). They’ve essentially made it impossible for you to even know how to do good with this aspect. The only thing that hasn’t changed from when I had my physical installed black boxes is my score for speed, thank goodness. Although this is 1 of 5 aspects so it’s not exactly reassuring. ***EDIT*** since writing the above review, I have emailed Privilege (as requested in the responding comment) and have yet to receive a reply. This was months ago now.
