Dot Blocks!

I enjoy playing this game, but I wish there was a way to make it completely ad-free. I paid the $.99 in-app purchase, but that only removes the forced ads, not all of the ads, as confirmed by the developer, who was very quick to get back to me (a plus). The ads I still get are if I want more hearts or gems, or if I want to continue playing the game. I realize this is how the developer wants the game to be, but all of these ads are getting quite tiring, and so I’m not sure how much longer I’m going to play it as a result (definitely a bummer, as again, I do like playing the game). I’ve been playing lots of iOS games since my first iPhone (the 3G model), but I don’t recall ever having to watch all of these ads over and over again just to keep playing (on top of that, most of the time it’s the same ads over and over again, which makes the ads even more tiresome). I’d be surprised if other reviewers don’t agree. Odd also that my previously posted reviews of this app are gone (don’t know if the developer or if Apple removed them).

I like it but it’s frustrating that I spent 100 gems on a character with no way to switch around between the ones I purchased!!

The gameplay was hard to understand and the tutorial didn’t help. I tried to play a few times, but didn’t understand what I was supposed to do or how to win. It just made noises, and didn’t seem to have any order to when new blocks or monsters would appear. However, I gave it a few more tries, and while I still didn’t completely understand how to navigate the game, my scores still got better. The game has been both incredibly frustrating but also strangely rewarding.
