DM10 - Drum & Synth Machine

Totally great to compose with, but there are a few issues. First, after the recent update, the effects may or may not work at all (Particularly envelope). Another issue is exporting: separating bass and drums is not easy. Muting one or the other doesn’t work, nor does turning them off. Nor does exporting them individually via the app design work. You literally have to copy the project two additional times and delete each copy down to what you want to have in your recorded track—not workflow compatible, but at least it is a workaround. It isn’t my device, either—it has remained an issue across ipads from Mini to Air to Pro. But overall, it lets me compose in chunks and hear multiple parts at once, which is a great baseline. Aside from these, a few excellent improvements would be to allow X4 rather than simply X2 (8/4) measures. This would greatly expand the app’s usability and allow it to actually be a self-contained solution for bass and drums that performed at a higher level.

First, this drum app is not super sophisticated with micro-timing and advanced performance features,*but* it is packed with a massive amount of pre-made drumkits and very good MIDI export/import and AUv3 abilities. If you’re looking to experiment, jam, hav fun, and be creative, this app has a lot to offer. I have several excellent drum apps with more features, but I keep going back to this one for a good time, and zero stress and a very quick workflow. It has also continued to get fixes and many new features recently and the developer has been very responsive and great to interact with, and for me that’s significant.

First thing I love about this is the included sounds and the ease of switching between kits Next I love that this has been brought into the AUV3 realm which is huge. Third, I love that it is regularly being updated and new features added. It feels like a passion project at this point. Love for a classic app. These automatically make it worth 5 stars The classic app was great. I love the dynamic of switching between patterns quickly. This app carries over some syncing (Link or midi drift) issues the original standalone had, but only in standalone. When it is hosted it syncs which is stellar! I’m excited about the addition of accessible parameters, midi, and pattern change when it is hosted. If the bug of dropping the first beat gets fixed (fixed now), and I have access to parameters (added 😎), this will be endless fun and most importantly INSPIRING. It’s already inspiring. If you’re into the iOS AUV3 plugin world, just get this 😊
