Generally good

Good app overall, though I seem to occasionally stop getting notifications for highs and have to restart the app. There’s one minor thing I’d really like to see fixed - when you are putting on a new sensor, and you’re getting the pop up saying ‘replace sensor’, if you put the sensor on and then go in the app, there’s a delay before the ‘replace sensor’ pop up displays. The problem is that the replace sensor pop up cancels anything you were doing on the app. So what happens is, I open the app to start the new sensor, I click ‘start new sensor’ and begin the process, then a few seconds in to that process the ‘replace sensor’ pop up appears, cancels whatever I was doing, and I have to start again. Really there needs to be some logic in place that means if I’m in the app, and have already pressed ‘start new sensor’, then that pop up doesn’t appear.

Could be so much better

One+ sensor. I am so disappointed with Dexcom, I have been using the librelink 2+ and had issues with faulty sensors not activating so wanted to start using Dexcom. First 2 sensors did not even warmup, straight away a message to replace sensor. The next one worked 4 days with erratic readings. Dexcom replaced sensors. I get missed readings, connection problems, message to wait up to 3 hours cos it can’t interpret the sensor reading. The Alarms, what alarms!!!! Where do I start, if the screen is locked no alarm, when you open the screen lock and go to the app the alarm sounds, a bit pointless. I so wanted Dexcom to work for me. It has the watch app I wanted, the apple health is updated with glucose data, the widget…… but if it doesn’t work what’s the point. Librelink is also broken but not as badly as Dexcom. I’m going back even though it lacks features and has upset me more times than I’ve had hot dinners, at least the alarms work and will wake me up in the middle of the night if needs be.

Needs Critical Alerts

This is a decent enough app, but why oh why oh why doesn’t it use the iPhone Critical Alerts feature so you can get alerts when your phone is in focus mode or sleep? It’s such a glaring omission that it lets the whole app down, I have to have a separate app (Sugarmate) to alert me if I’m about to have a hypo overnight. Also, none of the help pages work for me - they’re all blank. Same with the Contact page. The Dexcom One Plus is a massive upgrade of my ability to manage my blood glucose, but the app lacks features it really should have. I fought for two years to be prescribed a Dexcom CGM, and really did expect the app to at least provide the minimum features you’d expect a medical app to have.
