So this simplicity of the interface is really nice. You can time the contractions easily while your brain is so preoccupied. The basic design is simple and solid. The fact that you can edit later is good for when you have one you weren’t able to track. The two big disadvantages are 1) asking you to rate the app while in labor. Please no. A push notification a few days later would be fine. 2) I was only able to use this with my phone unlocked. If there is a way to do this from the Lock Screen, I was not able to find it. So I had to change my settings to have the screen never lock. Fortunately, I had a full battery when my labor started and I could do that, but I could have put myself in a really bad position if I had drained my phone timing contractions and been unable to call my husband and initiate go-time due to failing battery.
When I started having regular contractions with my first I tried to just use the timer on my phone… that only worked so well for so long and eventually I just stopped tracking them. Fast forward to baby number 3 and I knew I needed an app of some kind. So I downloaded this ahead of time and it worked so well! I started out using it on my phone but I kept missing contractions because I’d be walking around without my phone. So I checked if it was compatible with my watch and surprisingly it was! I was so happy and it was so easy to use! I didn’t really use the intensity option for each contraction as my labors are fast and I knew it was getting more intense without tracking it.
I had a sweep done the day before my due date because I was still 1cm dilated. My contractions started the day of my due date but very inconsistent and hard to keep track of while I am writing it down in my notepad or my husband is texting it to me. I downloaded this app and my husband ended up downloading it as well because it is super easy to use. No guess work. Very straightforward app! I used it while having contractions on the way to the hospital (they were painful) because that is how easy it is. You just push a “start” button and then “stop” and do your part in breathing through the contractions lol. I do not want to delete the app because I have an attachment to it due it is being memories tied to my first child. Maybe I’ll take screenshots and put them in her baby book.... but till now I’ll just open it randomly and reminisce 😂
