Canopie for Parents

I honestly didn’t use the lessons, and only met with a Canopie/LunaJoy person virtually twice, but Canopie still gets a five-star review, and I’ll tell you why. I have a great personal support system and medical/therapy team, so the help from Canopie felt redundant, but if you’re not as lucky as me? Canopie would be INVALUABLE! Secondly, I had a customer service issue that Canopie responded to most generously and rapidly. My insurance app inaccurately showed that I would owe over $300 for my virtual Canopie meeting, and I sent an email to complain and request the supposed charge be cancelled. Canopie very quickly responded, explained that their grants cover the part insurance doesn’t cover so it IS free to me—but they sent me a $25 Visa gift card to make up for the stress I experienced before they responded! Honestly, above and beyond customer service game. And that’s on top of an app that genuinely provides useful services to postpartum parents who don’t already have the medical, therapeutic and personal support I have.

This app has seriously been everything to me. I am a new mom, and totally underestimated just how this would change me. I thought it was going to be rosier. But I’ve had really hard days. Lots of tears. Lots of wondering if I could do this. I’m so glad a friend recommended Canopie because it’s been a life-saver. I use it to help me fall asleep after nighttime feedings (that’s when my anxiety seems to be the worst). I use the quick boosts when I’m spiraling. I’ve learned some really amazing ways to calm myself when I start to go into a dark place which is empowering. So even if I don’t have the app with me, I can still use the breathing techniques and practices to simmer down. Immensely grateful for this app and hope more moms discover it!

When you’re on maternity leave and you’re stuck at home with a crying baby who just spit up all over you after you finally found the world to get dressed, it can really help to have an outside voice telling you that this is normal or that you deserve grace or that you’re doing the best job that you can. I really appreciated listening to the modules in this app during my leave with my second. It’s very easy to get into your own head and I even re-listened to some of the lessons that just helped remind me that my hormones were changing and that we weren’t meant to take care of a baby alone. It’s definitely hard to invest in yourself during this time but I highly recommend taking ten minutes of your day for this. You deserve grace.
