If you bet low and take advantage of the free chips every four hours and the daily free chips, you never have to spend money in this app! And it really doesn’t matter how much you bet if you do well, and you win, you’ll slowly build a chip stack and slowly build your rating! Canasta is an easy game; it’s sort of lake playing go fish, but with points:-) learn the scoring and pay attention to your opponent. I like to take the get them all out in the table attack type of game approach :-) if you learn to play two player well you can really build up your chip stack and your rating.

Update: Premium player here… well, let me rephrase that, I PAID for a premium membership and PAID for extra coins, but have not been able to log into the game through Facebook for the past week. I PAID to start a club that I can’t access. My premium membership is dwindling away because I can’t access the game that I paid to play! I created another account using my email, but I’ve lost all the premium features, my coins, my club, my friends and all my statistical history. This is so not good. I enjoy this game and play it daily. I purchased a membership and coins regularly. I was close to 4 stars, but could not seem to get good hands or partners which has lowered my rank back to almost 1. Tonight I played a four person game, my partner and I each with 2 stars, our opponents with 4 and 5 stars. I was fortunate enough to be able to pick up the discard pile and racked up enough points to win the game, however, this apparently didn’t sit well with the sore loser who BANNED ME FOR NO LEGITIMATE REASON WHATSOEVER! I’ve read other complaints about this in the reviews, how is this fair? I’m now banned for 5 hours with absolutely no recourse. Complaints should be reviewed before someone is suspended from playing. You need a better system, this is absurd.

The platform is fun in that you can play with other people and there are people on there at all times. It’s easy to navigate and I agree with other reviews in that “most” people are friendly. However one big caveat is the dispersement of wild cards. When you first log on you will get 3 wild cards dealt each hand. Then as you continue to play they continue to dwindle. After a few games, you end up playing multiple hands with not a single wild card. Not just initially dealt with no wilds, but the entire game. It would be understandable if it wasn’t so skewed. I have never logged on and started a game with no wild cards - not once. But the longer you play on a certain day, the less wild cards you will receive. Developer claims that completely randomness is important to them, and that might be true overall, but my guess is it’s designed this way to keep you playing. At first you (and your partner) win games. Then eventually you can’t get a single wild card for several rounds. It would be more enjoyable if they didn’t do that but of course they want you to keep playing & maybe even buy chips when you run out. You can just leave the game for some time & come back, then you get wild cards again.
