Easy to create customized boards. App gives you the option of using icons from its library, the internet, or your photo library. 3x3 grids provide a perfect size to see and use, even on a phone screen. There are two additional features that bring the BRIDGE COMMUNICATION app head and shoulders above the the pack for me. First is the login-save feature which allows teachers, SLPs, and others to create boards for individuals on their devices, then have the client/caregiver download the boards using the created login to their device. This is huge, right?! Second is that the icon label and speech output are typed on two separate lines and don’t have to match. This means that you can label the icon “cookie” and have the speech output say “I would like a cookie”. Game changer. It’s reasonably priced. So glad I found this app. Have been telling people all about it!

As a clinician who is new to treating kids with AAC needs, this app has offered a complete and holistic therapeutic approach to stimulation and use of functional communication. The app is easy to navigate, offering easy to comprehend written and visual cues that kids of all ages easily identify and relate to (easy for parents and teachers too!). The context for communication that it provides is unmatched and allows for more natural communication exchanges, growing and expanding language with each session. Best part of it all, is that this app can be used for many kids with a range of language challenges for vocabulary building and communication. A win-win for clinician and client!

I am a SLP working in the schools and in the private sector. I have worked with many different types of AAC software programs, communication boards, Speech Generating Devices, and AAC devices that are currently on the market. I am absolutely loving this app! It is easy to learn and use for all ages of patients/students, caregivers, nurses, teachers, other therapy providers, and anyone else that might need to use the app or assist in using it. This alone is a huge plus! In my experience so far, the more difficult it is to use - the less it is used. I highly recommend this app -especially if you are looking for assistance with expressive language for functional and daily communication skills!
