Bolide Quick Connect

The recently installed cameras throughout our house are the most helpful and constructive safety feature we have ever had in the 18 years of my Autistic son’s life. There is literally no way to say thank for for giving us a clear picture of where he is and what he’s doing, without us having to constantly follow his every step. This system allows us to keep him safe in a more complete and less obstructive way than we would have ever been able to accomplish. I cannot do it justice in a comment. Area 51 and John Cento are amazing! I’ve looked into placing a camera system before without much luck and most often hearing other people saying it couldn’t be done . John made it seem like no trouble at all to provide something way beyond what we thought could be done. Also they are very kind, instructive and helpful, after the system is installed. Beyond excellent service, as well as product! A Grateful Mom!

I’ve owned a Bolide system for a few years now. The overall functionality is great; however, the updated app is quite a bit slower to load the feed from the channels. In addition, playback is much slower and a bit cumbersome. Scanning through time is difficult. The previous version was fantastic in that regard. I wish they could bring back that speed. Among my favorite features are adjusting the sensitivities within different fields of view and email alerts for motion detection. Overall 3.5/5 however if they make the improvements to the app and bring back the speed the rating would be much higher.

The mobile app is very helpful to monitor events, on and off premise. A few bugs that I observe are that the cameras load when I first open the app, but if I switch apps quickly (for example to text about an ongoing situation at the venue) and jump back, the cameras will not load and I have to restart the app to make it work. Another issue I have is that when I zero in on a clip of an incident and try to view it, and then go back to watch it again, that specific clip that I’m looking for disappears and gets skipped over. I can access the actual recorder and view from there, but the app doesn’t allow it. Other than that it is a useful app and I enjoy using it!
