I have been searching for this exact app for YEARS. This is exactly how I track my time in real life, but now instead of using sheets of paper or my notes app, I can use this app! I’ve wanted it so bad that I’d seriously considered trying to develop it myself. (But now I don’t have to! Thanks Ni An!) I love how fast it makes filling in time, just by tapping. I love the unlimited colors. I love the ability to add event objects as an extra dimension for each event. I love the ability to add comments. I love all the shortcuts, like the long press on the event to instantly apply and add comment. I love the data analysis charts and the ability to export data. This app is already amazing, but here are additional features that would make it even better: 1) Apple Watch support. So my watch could tap me every half hour and let me quickly fill in what I just did. 2) When I’m filling in how I spent my time, I would love a “cursor mode” where I can “type” events in sequentially just by tapping the events in order, without having to select the next block manually each time. 3) I would really like a “move” feature to move a group of selected blocks. The move button could be next to the erase button. Could select the group and then select the single time slot for where the beginning of the group should be moved to. Like a temporary “stamper”. EDIT: They added this in the form of group copy-paste!! Thank you!
As a software developer myself, I am addicted to downloading and testing Apps in search of the best the iOS App Store has to offer. After testing dozens of top rated time tracking apps. I can say BlockyTime is in my Top 3 Date/Time Apps I use. The app is very professionally built with a very nice UI and UX that make it attractive and easy to use. I am lazy about using time tracker apps. This app lets you set up as many button/stamps to tap on and fill in Work hours with different tasks. You can adjust the settings on almost everything so you can fine tune it to work just right for your needs. I really enjoy that I can setup an alert in the morning and one in the evening to remind me to start/stop or organize my time blocks for that day. You can even add comments on any time block. You can view statistics with all this data you are creating allows you to view nice charts and export time blocks as an image which looks really cool. You can even using iOS shortcut scripts or another app to create time blocks from another app. This app was really thought out and all the features I could want exist already with exception of a couple more ideas for future features. This app is one of my favorites for work. I highly recommend it!
If you've seen the movie The Devil Wears Prada, I'm the girl who only eats a cube of cheese, never sleeps, and is somehow always, always, always in the office at any given time of the day. You come into the lab at 10AM? I'm here. You need me to check the cell cultures for you at 3AM? I'm already here. It's raining Sunday night and you got a flat tire, rang me up, pleading me to move the bacterias removed from the incubators to the fridge?? Done. I'm not here by choice. I'm here because there's so much to do all the time, and there's not enough time, ever! I can't ever keep track of what I'm doing either, or whats been done, and what I'm supposed to follow up on. It's incredibly frustrating because I know work has been done, - a lot of work! But I'm just so busy to log it in real time so it all ends up in the abyss. I'm in 6th circle of hell, slowly entering the 7th. So bless this app, because it actually freaking works. Things are actually getting logged for once! And not only things, but the amount of time spent on them. Gosh I'm seeing visual data telling me I need to get the heck outta here and drink some orange juice. But yeah. This app? Life changing. To the developer: what do you think aboooout customizable palettes? Or adding one more nest to the items list? Just some ideas. The app is amazing already though, can't thank you enough.
