I love Barre3, I love the recipes and the variety of work outs. I lovED being able to do my 10 minute works outs wherever and whenever. Unfortunately for several months now I keep getting messages that say the app will cause my phone to slow down and that the developer needs to update. It only works sparingly and most of the time shuts off. The "tips" are also not helpful and a waste of space. Would much rather have access to the blog through the app. I hate to be so negative but it is useless at this point and I don't have access to a studio in my area. Update soon!!
First of all- to the people who complained about not being able to reserve a class- you need the free mind and body app for that. I had to quit taking the regular classes, and this has been a perfect replacement. I do two of the 10min workout videos each morning. For a few dollars and zero travel time, I'm basically getting the same thing as I was getting before. And I love that I was able to add my own music to the background. Besides the surprisingly good cardio workout and strength training, these moves are similar to the ones my physical therapist have me for my back. My biggest goal is to stop my back pain, and I think this will do it. I have made 10 of the recipes and we loved them all. Tasty and filling. I make a big batch and freeze the rest in individual portions. My favorites are the Butternut Squash and Sage Soup, Lemon Lentil Soup, Sweet Potato and Cauliflower Purée, Ginger Stir-Fry, and Chicken Tikka Masala. I googled them as well so that I could enter them into MyFitness Pal to get the calorie count.
Love that these workouts that can be strung together for short or long sessions! Have done 10 minutes when on business travel and 30-40 minutes when not pressed for time. Great variety of workouts to keep motivation up. Only downside is that you need to be connected to use this app. I've been using this app for almost a year and it used to work perfectly, but recently the app has been freezing on both my iPad and iPhone. Would be 5 stars if I could download the workouts to prevent this. The freezing has been disrupting the flow of my workouts and I really want to love this app again.
