If you miss the jank of early 2000’s gimmick-tech for kids, ATT has you covered in 2026. Do you wish to jump thru several hoops to send an app-based message even though the phone you’re using has been able to do it better for 26 years? Do you have plenty of time and patience to spare? No need for word wrap when composing a message? Then Amigo is for you! Asking your kid to come downstairs is only THREE button presses away (after the app loads of course)! Wish to make a call? Well, simply move your thumb straight past the PHONE icon on the PHONE you’re holding and get the old Amigo App booted up! But WAIT! Aren’t you tired of getting notifications the moment you receive an important call or text message? Well, Amigo has your back! Simply do literally anything else with your phone besides have this app open and ready, and Amigo will carefully keep all those pesky notifications to itself until YOU’re ready to open/re-open the app and see what your kid has been texting you (you were supposed to pick them up from soccer 1hr ago…but its only been dark for 45 minutes -quit crying). Seriously. You have to constantly open and monitor or close/reopen the app or you WILL miss messages from your kids watch. The notifications work worse than a mandatory government messaging app for military members. But WHY? Was it REALLY more profitable to build the system this way? Why does the monitoring and device management have to utilize this aggressively mid app instead of being native to the OS like any apple product? (And it’s ATT btw. No one writes AT- AMPERSAND -T. Get over yourself and make yourself searchable with “ATT” already)

I have invested 40 minutes in this and normally configure things out pretty well, but simply trying to add a friend contact to one of my children's watches. I am at a loss. When I add a contact from my parent amigo app, it will automatically always make that contact a guardian which we do not want for their friends to be, of course. More research said contacts must be added from the child's watch for them to not be listed as a guardian and following all the steps for multiple sources we are unable to do this. A lot about the amigo app and watches is intuitive and very well laid out, but adding a contact which will be used quite often is completely confusing. Will keep trying and eventually should figure it out.

I love it helps me keep checking my daughter and whenever she runs off that I mean when she’s at her friends, I can find her a check or call her except I don’t like that. It doesn’t show me exactly where she is and the exact location at the minute.
