I like that I can talk to the AI coach instead of texting everything. It really helps with motivation and getting things done. The timing is off though. If I'm supposed to do a task in 15 minutes and the Coach may check on me halfway through or at the end, he just keeps talking. Way before the halfway mark or the end, even though I'm asking him to be quiet for a certain amount of time. Example 15 minutes to do something and then in one minute, he's asking if I'm done. In another minute, he'll ask me if I'm done as well. Still like it. That just needs to be worked out.
If I could give zero stars I would. I bought the app (there wasn’t any way to try it out before you bought it) and knew instantly this wasn’t for me. I reached out to the company to ask for a refund. I got an automated instant response saying they received my email and someone would be with me in 24 hours. I waited 5 days because of the weekend I wanted to give them extra time and still did not get a response so I reached out again. The response I got was so rude I was shocked! She told me they already told me how to get a refund in a previous email but here it is again. Like I said before the only email I got was saying they received it. Still, I said I’ll follow the directions but that I didn’t receive any other email with directions. She responded AGAIN by telling me I’m wrong and that it probably went to junk or spam. I already checked both of those and there are no other emails. The fact that this company has an employee who feels the need to tell their customer how wrong they are when the company is in the wrong is crazy. The problem was resolved on her end and she still felt the need to respond to me and tell me how wrong I was. The app was awful and their customer service is even worse!
Over the last six months (late 2025) I tried multiple AI enabled goal setting/task mgmt /motivation / coaching apps. While some showed promise none were truly usable. I saw a referral to the Aligned app from a professional I trust and respect and thought I would give it a try - not expecting much. Well, I’m shocked and amazed at how spot on, and valuable the AI coach is!!! I have gotten insights and tactical recommendations that completely break through blockers I’ve struggled with for decades. I will say part of that is because I give very detailed and truthful information about my own blockers and behaviors. But given that information ‘he’ spots it back to me so completely accurately (and I don’t mean just saying my own words back) and then, gives me an actionable approach that is so workable and really mitigates my challenges. Using ‘his’ recommendations I’m meeting some of my most difficult goals for the first time in years. As a note, I use AI in my work every day as a data scientist so I am familiar with how to right good prompts. So I would recommend any user to spend a bit of time getting educated about how to speak to an AI with information and context that it will need to provide a good response. Also, the app itself is pretty bare bones at this point. I can see a pretty big opportunity for many more features and capabilities in the mo the ahead. But - the current version is certainly robust enough to be a super valuable life / planning / goal management tool and coach.
Whatever's on your mind — the house, the week, the thing you've been avoiding — just ask your coach. Sometimes you'll get a plan. Sometimes one small...
