ABC Taxi Norwich

Have been using the ABC app recently to book cabs for some hospital appointments. Wow my whole life has changed now when it comes to booking cabs. It’s brilliant. You can pre book in advance and then when the cab is on it’s way the status changes accordingly. It’s also great for booking adhoc, especially if your from and to locations have been saved as favourites. 2 clicks and your cab is booked with an eta, then followed by regular updates. It’s all topped off with a phone call (recorded message) confirming your cab has arrived.

There is an error with this app which means you can’t edit the time of a pre-booked journey - which is annoying in itself, but the app also gives you the impression that the time has been changed, which means you are left waiting for a taxi at the new time when the booking hasn’t actually been changed. This has been an issue for a few months and not only has it not been fixed, but when I have called up to query, the staff have been a bit rude and not at all apologetic. The error should be fixed ASAP but at the very least, there should be a warning about the error. Unfortunately after many years of being loyal to ABC I’m going to look for an alternative taxi service.

I’ve recently started using the app and I’m generally really impressed with it. I like the ability to pre-book and see status updates in real time. However, since a recent update you no longer receive the registration number of the pick up car. If you’re at the rail station there are often a few ABC taxis waiting and you’re only given the make and model of the car, it’s a challenge to identify which is yours when they’re all the same!
