WNIU Public Radio App

I love this channel, it’s beautiful and has always helped me sleep. I haven’t had any issues so far. It’s like a regular old radio. I love that the commercials are still angelic and calming. Not ruining the atmosphere or mood that was set by the last song.

Despite its persistent opening "commercial" (which can only be muted manually, with well-timed use of the volume button), the WNIU app is bug-free (to the extent that WNIU's stream is available), easy to use, clear, and versatile. It provides complete access to the relevant areas of WNIU's site, social links, a "Messages" link, and an easy shortcut for calling the station. The "Now Playing" panel is confusing, because it is apparently unable to display special programs, such as "Sunday Morning Baroque." But, for regularly-scheduled programs, it's quite serviceable. The ever-present reminder to donate is a sign of the times for free apps… especially for Classical music.
