First time Iโve loved an app so much I felt the need to leave a review. Idaho weather is erratic and can quickly turn from calm sunny skies to hail and insane winds. My bf watched in horror from the doorway my first year setting up a big garden as I tried to hold big metal shelves up with seedlings and pots as everything fell over, rain blowing sideways like a mini hurricane. I gave up and watched all of it collapse. This app helped me build up wind fences in the right places and I can grow tomato stalks up and around a greenhouse frame without them snapping in a wind storm now.
Free advice to the developer. When someone offers feedback through review, a curtious response could be the difference of them revising their review to more stars and giving you praise or canceling their membership and lowering their stars. You have a great product and I understand that you need to be able to maintain profitability. My dissapointment is that a basic paid membership doesn't give me access to wind reports that I can't already get from NOAA for free. One option to consider is allowing people with basic memberships to have access to one or two prime spots. You have a 4-5 star product, but a 2-3 star price structure and a 1-2 on customer reponse (sending me a snarky message after my first review and I see I'm not the only one from reading other reviews). I'm rooting for you to do better.
Iโm a charter boat captain in Homer Alaska. I was born into commercial fishing in Alaska and have spent my life in some of the most brutal weather areas in the world. Iโve spent my whole life listening to weather forecasts on the VHF and SSB radioโs and when I could watch the news and using NOAA websites. All those options are great and have been life savers but WindAlert puts everything I want and need all right in my hand to look at all the time. Even when I get out of telephone service I can check the things I recently looked at and know when itโs time to boogie. WindAlert is also by far the closest you can get (in my area of the world) to whatโs actually happening with the weather. There predictions are almost always spot on. I trust them as much if not more then NOAA weather. They need to put this technology into a satellite phone with a reasonable service plan and Iโd be a life long member!
