Wehome is pretty much Korea's equivalent of Airbnb and to my understanding, run by/with the government so it does feel a little more secure in that regard. The app works well enough -- you find the accommodation you want, choose your dates, and submit the request. But there's no way to store your card information, and you can't make requests without it, so you're constantly having to input your card info over and over again. You might ask now, why are you making so many requests? I've learned that requests are often declined because the accommodation is already booked even though the dates you've chosen are available. It might be because I tried to book a little late (> a month in advance), but shouldn't those dates be blocked off already? It's been incredibly frustrating because this information does not seem accurate. It's also difficult for someone who isn't constantly traveling to Korea, or aren't using Wehome often, because you understandably do not have any reviews and anyone to vouch for you. So how are you supposed to get an "in" if hosts are making determinations based on this? Honestly, it's given me so much more stress than necessary just trying to find a reasonable place. Not to mention, when a host rejects your request, the app will give you a coupon for your next booking, but it's NEVER applicable. Anyway, until I'm able to try in an opportunity in which I can book further in advance, I would say it's not worth it. Find a booking site that is accurate and dependable because this is not it. You do not want your plans to depend on this one.
I had a wonderful experience using this app. It’s very easy to browse homes and the listings feel trustworthy. I especially like that the homes are verified and certified, which gives me confidence when booking a stay in Korea. Highly recommended for travelers looking for safe and unique accommodation.
The interface is simple and clean, making it easy to search for homes in Seoul and other cities. I found several unique places that I couldn’t find on other platforms. Booking was smooth and the whole process felt reliable.
