Weather4D Lite

This is a wonderful app! As a pilot and flight instructor I use this app for long term prediction. The graphical interface has almost limitless settings for including or removing visible data. I have been disappointed by every weather app I've downloaded, until this. Lives on my home page. (Did the negative reviewers even understand the most basic aspects of weather prediction?) If you want simple idiot mode weather, most other apps will be fine. If you want beautifully depicted graphical prediction models, this is it.

This is without a doubt a great weather app. In fact, I’ll go as far as saying that it’s the best that I’ve seen. I’ve downloaded many different weather apps and this one has become my favorite. It combines a lot useful information, which is typically viewed separately from multiple sources; I especially like how I can view a lot of important data over-laid at the same time, in a very efficient manner. The user interface is also very intuitive making the app easy to use. Prior to owning this application I found myself switching back and forth between different types weather maps. The only feature that I hope will someday be added is a way to overlay the numerical value of ocean wave heights, currently ocean wave period predictions can be viewed but wave heights can only be viewed via color gradients. I believe that anyone who needs to, or simply enjoys, forecasting the weather will love this app.

Weather4D is a beautiful app for examining output from the NOAA Global Forecast System (GFS), which is the basis for most U.S.-based weather forecasts. The user interface is elegant on both the iPhone and the iPad and has many thoughtful features, such as the land and sea masks and the way, when looking at further out forecasts, that the clock icon is shaded in proportionally to the time since the model was run. I haven't encountered any bugs, and I appreciate that app comes with a comprehensive user guide. One thing that I would like to see added is the option to display scale bars for the shading (e.g., the temperature scale corresponding to the temperature shading). Overall, however, Weather4D is a wonderful app.
