Weather Mate - NOAA Radar Maps

After the original Storm got sold off and shut down I tried multiple weather apps, a bunch, and finally settled on WeatherMate. The app hasn’t let me down since! It’s accurate, as much as it can be expected in the mountains anyhow, hard to predict what the weather will do here precisely, especially in the microclimate areas, but overall does very well with it. Plenty of features as well. I do have an issue now though, not with the app but the ads. Some of the new ads have no way of closing them. They are excessively long as well, but getting through them all the way doesn’t offer a solution to exit out of the window. In the past these have popped up and I believe WeatherMate has taken them down quickly, please get this new batch off screen so I can keep enjoying this wonderful app, thank you! Update: the ads got fixed not long after my original comment. This app was really good at predicting the weather, but lately has been quite off. I’m not sure if they’ve switched to a new algorithm or what, but I haven’t been able to rely on this app these first couple months of 2023. I’ll stick with it though and see if something changes.

I was so bummed Storm got sabotaged by a terrible mandatory " upgrade"- I read all kinds of reviews for other weather apps that would provide the local info I wanted as well as reliable radar maps. I'm a weather geek, and wanted an app that would show fog and cloud cover for my area- the California Central Coast, as well as rain, storms, etc. I had tried Weather Bug but the maps were basic and never showed actual fog banks or cloud cover. I tried the NOAA My Radar and it wasn't user friendly and constantly crashed. I downloaded Weather Mate yesterday and I absolutely love it! The satellite/ radar is right on, it gets info from personal weather stations in my town, so it's super accurate. My only gripe is you can only select three locations in your "saved" locations- if you want more you have to upgrade to pro. That's the ONLY complaint. The main screen is beautiful with the background animation and gives you all the weather info you want. Also gives sunrise/sunset/ moon phases etc. you can choose between a basic main screen which opens up the background scenes, or you can do the advanced main screen and you get a cool flip clock with local time and all kinds of current and future weather. Love this app! Doesn't crash- but now it's starting to put full size ads in when you switch to the radar screen- which haven't bothered me very much but I think it's unnecessary- just the running ads on the bottom are enough. Overall I'm very pleased- couldn't wait to see how it performed with this morning's unexpected fog- and there it was! On the map and so this girl is super stoked!!! Thank you for making an app all the previous Storm lovers can enjoy and depend on!!!!! You won't be disappointed with this one!!
