Voidpet Dungeon has gotten me to play every day for the past 2 months and I don’t really plan on stopping that habit. It’s a nice casual game to play that doesn’t take a lot of brain power until you reach a wall that takes a few days to overcome, which is great. I like that they gave emotions life and personality as the voidpets. The dialogue in the battles is a little corny but what dialogue isn’t in a mobile game. My only complaint would be that you really only have one thing to do a day once you’ve done your daily missions and battle pass, maybe an option to add friends and have clans would be cool, though that’s a very generic thing for games to have. I also love and hate the pricing for in game purchases - I love that they are high because it discourages me from purchasing anything, knowing that it probably wouldn’t be worth it to spend $15 for a single astral egg- of which I’ve opened 12 and had no luck. On the other hand I hate the pricing because it’s too high a price for me to pay for things that I will get for free with patience. In all, great game, and i’m happy to be a part of its journey and evolution. Additionally, I just found that there are hundreds of character icons, all of which are obtainable using gems. There is some really amazing artwork on these profile pictures, and I think it would be great if these were highlighted more, maybe with say “Avatar Eggs” or egg fragments that you get from the daily boss and the battle pass!
When I saw the ads about the game I was intrigued. A game that’s has creatures related to emotions? And it has combat? I was sold! At least, for the first few weeks. After playing the game for a while I noticed a few jarring turn-offs for me. For starters, the story wasn’t as interesting as I’d hoped. The dialogue was a bit too casual for my liking and the lack of visuals really made it hard to follow. I couldn’t get attached to any character. The only time I had a semblance of recognition for one, it was always related to another boss. Not the character themself. Speaking of the boss, the gameplay is very dull. It’s the same thing over and over again. The only variation is your type of voidpets and which ones you use. Either way, the outcome is the same. My suggestion is that the main “gameplay” (if you can even call it that) should be considered training, with a whole new part of the game be dedicated to a new form of gameplay. That way the story can be tweaked and improved while also satisfying the common complaint of dull gameplay. The game isn’t bad by all means, it just needs some massive improvements before you can call it a game.
Voidpets isn’t a bad game; I’ve been playing for about two months made some decent progress. After about your first month you’ll a see a decline in things to do if you don’t choose the right way to manage your materials, items, or keys. If you’re smart you’ll keep up with the “tracks” that will keep you going in a good path; leveling multiple elements and items to where they should be at regarding your spot in story. What I don’t like is the lack of eggs because it does come down to whom you attained to put in your team I’ve tried my best to really create a solid team for most encounters however I don’t have much going for myself to deal strong builds; for reference the “petulant” event took me 4 days to do the one battle just to not get petulant itself I’ve waited two days to see if the new battle would come for another chance but there isn’t no chance for that I’ll have to wait till the daily gift to hopefully get a chance at that strong character which is such a disappointment I’ll be stuck soon enough given the team I’m able to create. If there were more to attain eggs I think people would have an easier time I mean let alone getting new characters you still have to ascend your characters too. If I had one thing to say to devs; make a pvp system three leagues at least or a journey road for pvp that gives separate rewards something that way people could see what other people do with their pets so it could be used to help themselves. I would really think the pvp side of things would help sooooo much with the current problems most people are having with eggs.
