Unwind: Breathing Exercises

This app stands out for many reasons. For one, the graphics and sounds are enchanting. The light rain, the different breathing icons, all customizable to your calming preferences. Also, it’s one of the few apps that does the Apple Watch right, and is so comforting to have on the ready. A few taps, and I’m able to do just about any type of grounding or breathing exercise I need for the moment. I also love that it shows a heart rate comparison before and after breathing, giving you real metrics that your breathwork helped. Finally, I had a few questions, and the developer responded immediately with help. He really cares about making sure you feel supported. I’m a huge fan all around and can’t wait to see how the app continues to evolve!

I always used to think I had to setup myself to relax and meditate and downloading the app made realize I just relax and that’s all, I was overthinking too much. Only thing I will say is that the random feature is nice but I wish I could pick some rather than all of them, the Ocean one is very loud and isn’t the most soothing thing I will eventually get the Pro version even though I don’t need it but it’s nice to support something like this. I’ve been trying to get back into meditation post pandemic and it’s been quite the struggle. I was using Calm for a bit, and while that app has all the bells and whistles - Unwind is my favorite due to the ease of use, stylized aesthetic, and overall simplistic approach to breathing. Less really is more. Unwind is not intimidating at all. It’s wonderful for beginners and the choice of ambient sounds is extremely satisfying. I love that the narration is 5 words; straight to the point, focused, and convenient with the timers. I found myself looking forward to using the app everyday, which is a rarity for me. Also, love that there is a widget for this! Works perfect with my iPad setup. I immediately upgraded after my first try. Thank you for such a lovely app!
