So it appears that once you use this app they will help themselves to money anytime they like. I’ve tried contacting support but their reply was that they don’t care they’re just going to help themselves to more money. I left my parking space and in the app I selected to finish session and pay. I paid the £5 and continued to the exit. There was a queue which ment from leaving the parking space to exit took 3 minutes. On getting to the gate another £1 charge appeared. I contact support with receipt time stamped 16:52 and dash cam footage proving I drove straight to the exit. They said their camera doesn’t show me to leave until 16:55 and so they were taking an extra £1. They have all my payment details so they’ll just take the extra charge on top of what the app already charged for that session meaning I pay twice for the one session because Trust feel like some extra cash. I won’t be using the app again and need to find a way to remove my data so Trust can’t just help themselves again when they feel like it. I recommend anyone think twice about using the Trust app so you don’t end up paying twice as I have. Their support were really not interested in anything other than double dipping. Not interested in proof I paid for the session already.
It was already frustrating not to be able to simply pay by card at the parking machine. I then had to download this app, give loads of information multiple times and all just to pay £3. I then immediately deleted the app. For some reason I couldn’t use Apple Pay which would have saved time and had to manually input all my bank details, email address and postal address stood in the rain. I don’t know why, unlike with other apps, that information could not automatically be filled in when I started to fill it in. One of the first actions you have to complete when setting up an account is to give your bank details to have this authenticated through your banking app and when I first did that it had some random payee (and not the Canal and River Trust which is what I was expecting). I then cancelled that, then had to fill in all the same information all over again and then that time it was the Canal and River Trust who I had to authenticate… so I’m glad I did cancel the first attempt but it was frustrating I had to do it again. I then actually had to fill all that info in again when I authenticated the payee but the app wouldn’t load to the next step… me and another bloke were joking about how awful the experience was as we tried to pay £3 and were gently mocked by a third person who simply paid with change with no problem. He’d intentionally bought a coffee with cash to make sure he had change to avoid using the app. It was so bad I’ve spent the last few minutes writing this review
Thought it was really good to start with! It was really clever how it knew what car park I was in and starting my parking session when I drove in without having to open the app! However, while I had automatic pay enabled when I left the car park, when I checked the app a few minutes later the parking session had not ended. I clicked end and paid £2.20, received an email receipt and this went out of my online banking and so I drove home. A couple of hours later, when I was actually saying how good the app was, I opened it to find my parking session was still active and was now up to over £6. I emailed Trust customer service with my receipt but the parking session continued to rise and so I paid again fearing a larger bill and a fine. I received a second email receipt and the money went out of my bank again but this time the parking ended. I emailed the second receipt to the customer services email but have had no response at all. Therefore I ended up paying £10 for a £2 parking ticket because the parking did not end the first time even though I had confirmation I had paid!
