I’ve been going to The Spot for a couple years now. Service is top-notch, atmosphere is great, and booking appointments WAS never an issue. However, with this “new update” to their app, they’ve downgraded the whole system. Choosing to downgrade to a web app is appalling to me. One would think that the services the app offers must be levels above what was offered previously—spoiler alert: they’re not. Immediately upon opening the app, where I would once see my previous appointment to seamlessly rebook, I now see a long list of store locations that I never go to. Instead, I have to click through multiple menus and wait for many web-style loading screens before being able to rebook an appointment. Thank goodness they recently integrated Apple Pay support. Otherwise this would easily be a 1-star review.
I’ve been a customer of The Spot for a while and have been managing most of my appointments through their app. Today, when I tried to schedule an appointment, I noticed there was a new update. Unfortunately, the update is not working well. My preferred location is no longer showing, and the app doesn’t display the staff schedule by location, which is very important because sometimes I choose a different staff member based on availability. The app also deleted my saved card information and didn’t allow me to use the quick payment option. I had to enter all my card details manually, and after completing the information three times, it still didn’t save, so I couldn’t complete the reservation. I ended up having to call the branch to book my appointment. I also heard other customers experiencing the same issue. In my opinion, the new update is not ready yet. The service itself is still very good—this complaint is only about the app.
I love this Barber Shop. I’ve been going for years now. Unfortunately they just raised the price for a regular haircut to $50. That’s just insane. I get things are tough right now, but folks like us are also struggling. Gonna have to find another barber shop now. Hope you bring the price back down so my friends and I can come back.
