Automatic screen capture seems to work (most of the time) but the scroll function only works sometimes. I can manually scroll and the auto capture appears to work, but twice I have scrolled through months of texts only to have Volume Down function not work to stop the scanning process. Really regret paying for this POS app. UPDATE: Having received a reply from the developer that denied any responsibility and basically told me to RTFM, I’m giving this one star and chalking this app up to a SCAM. BUYER BEWARE!! SECOND UPDATE: Another reply from developer telling me how easy this is to use if I just follow the instructions. At least he reads reviews and replies!! Let me spell this out: I watched the videos, successfully installed the app, set up my airpods to use the autoscroll feature, and queued up the text thread to capture. The autoscroll and autocapture started out working as expected - indicating a successful install. Then, without any change whatsoever to the physical setup and with complete silence in the environment (no ambient noise), the autoscroll stopped working but autocapture continued, which resulted in several duplicate screenshots. I was able to manually scroll before the next autocapture, but this defeats the purpose of paying money for this app. Then, after reaching the end of the text thread, the Down Volume control to stop the autocapture failed to function, despite many tries. The only way to stop the app was to swipe up and effectively abort the process. I wasted a solid hour with no success. THE APP IS BUGGY AND BROKEN. As a developer, please use your acumen to debug and fix the problems rather than blame the user. Thanks ever so much.
I downloaded this to save the chat history I had with my grandmother before she passed. I wanted to print them out into a physical book. TextKeep allowed me to keep the original look of the messages in a high-quality stitched photo, which was exactly what I wanted. It’s a really nice way to preserve memories without just having thousands of loose screenshots cluttering up my camera roll.
Finally! I have tried at least three other apps to save a massive text thread for a court case, and my thumb was about to fall off from manually screenshotting and cropping. The automatic scrolling feature on TextKeep is absolute genius. I set it up with the Shortcut, put my AirPods in, and just watched my phone scroll and snap everything by itself. It saved me literal hours. Worth every penny just for that hands-free capture alone.
TextKeep is the ultimate tool for saving and exporting chat history from any messaging app. Whether you need to print text messages for legal evidence...
