Tayasui Watercolor & Painting

I’ve used this app since it came out in the AppStore and then the devs made a Pro version, not sure why but I’m not complaining. I use Procreate a lot but I enjoy the ease of use with Sketches and the brushes have some really nice effects. Through the various iterations they’ve added layers and canvas sizes and myriad other upgrades. I particularly enjoy the watercolor brushes and the ability to add water to the color to soften and blend. I just spent a couple of hours playing with each and every brush and it’s variations as I haven’t done that for awhile. The new pastel crayon is pretty neat and mimics an actual pastel stick. This is a robust art app but you have to take some time to play with all the brushes and textures, and I like the fact you can modify every color by press and hold the color. The pen tool is one of my favorites, it is akin to an ape tel brush pen with pressure sensitivity. There isn’t another one like it and I use it frequently. I am using this app on a iPhone 13 Pro Max, a 2020 iPad Pro 12.9” and an older iPad Pro 9.7”. No issues at all with bugs or crashing on any of them and I use it fairly often. It’s a terrific all around easy to use app for creative people and I’m so thankful they keep updating it to make it even better. Highly recommend!! 🎨

I’ve had sketches for a while now, and I have enjoyed it so far. The tools and brushes are good, and it’s easy to use and has a nice layout. I’ve seen all the inspiring art in the ‘community’ section, and so I decided to try it out for myself. It was going pretty good, but the problem was I had to wait FREAKING 24 HOURS for my post to actually be shown. I’m not exactly sure why this is, but it’s extremely frustrating. And another thing, WE CAN ONLY POST ONE THING PER DAY!?! All I want is to share my art with other people, is that so much to ask? A few days back, I decided to post this cute corgi that I had worked HOURS on, but then when it posted, I realized that I had forgot something, so I took it down, and made the little edit. But then when I tried to put it back up I got ‘You already posted this’ or some junk like that. So to fix this, I made a copy, and tried to post that, but NO, apparently you can’t post stuff like that, because Sketches thinks that if it’s not the original, or if I just imported a picture, it isn’t art, and it won’t post it. I just hit ‘Ok’ without reading it, and waited THREE DAYS for it to post, eventually, I finally just took it down and tried to post it again, but I got the message again. Now, I have to wait two more days for my art to even be shown to the world, when if you didn’t have all these stupid rules, it would be shown a week ago already. Really disappointed with this, because all I wanted to do was share my art. Sketches, please, just let me post my art. That’s all I want. It would make me so happy.

NOW THAT THERE IS a way of seeing it on a graph I can confirm that I spend most of my time lately with this app. It is not without a few annoying. Bugs. I find the layers feature far too complicated to use for my purposes but I can’t seem not to stumble over it at every turn. But inadvertently created layers can be erased What I hate most is when the screen freezes up its usually when I am making rapid changes that this happens and I have lost hours of work. But you have to set it to “auto save’ to avoid most catastrophes (check every now and again even if you think it’s on. There seems to be. A ghost in my machine). Otherwise., for variety off tools and for the sheer number of ways I can tweak those tools to nearly do all the things I could do with their analog counterparts, I give this app my highest possible recommendation. Unlike other competitors, some of which are too basic (no smudge?) or so complex I feel like I have to take a post-graduate course to figure out how to use, this app is mostly intuitive. I never reading instructions ], as is my stubborn way, until I was already quite comfortable using the app., doing so on the Tayasui website has helped me get even more out of it. I had to leave off a star because it is. Too easy to lose ones work. Other I could hardly imagine a more useful and beautifully designed tool or creative outlet. And it’s not expensive. I recommend the Pro version over the free if you are obstructing more serious or. Complex graphics or design systems or making art,
