TART Connect

I took six months off from using this app because i had such a horrible time with it over the winter, often waiting over an hour for a pickup from the grocery store to the point that it was too cold to wait anymore and i had to pay for an uber. For the rest of winter i just ordered groceries delivery and walked to work. When the snow melted i started riding my bike so i downloaded tart to get my bike across town and they came in like 15 minutes! I was stoked. But then to get back. I waited 40 min for a tart just to have them call me and tell me they didnt have a bike rack. So then i ordered another one waited another 40 minutes but then again it got dark and too cold to wait outside anymore so i ended up riding my bicycle across town with no lights because i had waited from 530 to 7pm with no tart. If you have absolutely nowhere to be, no schedule, then order a tart but you wont know if it will be 5 minutes or 2 hours. Do not rely on tart to get to or from work. Do. Ot rely on tart to get home from the grocery store. Ive heard of people going to the store in pairs so as soon as they get picked up to go to the store the other person can request the tart back in order to avoid long wait times. Alas i dont have a buddy to do this for me. Also, the other day after i walked home 45 minutes i turned down my street just to see a tart van sitting idle, no where near any homes, so it makes me wonder if they are choosing not to accept rides or arent being assigned rides in an efficient manner. All of the drivers are incredibly nice! But if this company is being subsidized by local taxes, we should really look at the next election to eliminate any further contributions to a company that cant seem to improve or even meet the needs of the community.

When tart connect was initially introduced in the summer it was the single greatest free service our town has ever provided for both locals and tourists-it was essentially a free uber. Aside from the map being too restrictive for pickup/dropoff points id say it was a perfect service and app. I believe it was halted in the winter to be reevaluated on whether or not the program would continue, but when it did pick up again nothing really works anymore. You go to request a ride, it always gives you an hour plus of estimated wait time, and there is no accuracy for that and half the time if you decide to wait it out no one will show up even. I dont know if theres a lack of drivers or funding now or what changed but i really wish the town would give tart connect whatever they need for the service to continue and prosper with the quality they used to have, because sadly this was an amazingly helpful service that is now just frustrating and useless the majority of the time

My boyfriend and I were so happy to find out about this recently. We have used it a few times now and the drivers have been quick and so friendly. Every time the drivers have arrived in 20 mins or less. Please keep this around, this is a huge deal for the West Shore and will drastically help increase safety.
