I travel a lot. I have been using this app forever. First to get TRX specific workouts when traveling but then incorporating stretching, kettle ball and other equipment at home. This app allows me to build structured workouts that focus on strength, stretch or a mix of systems without having to switch apps between the different systems or even just body weight alone. While it doesn’t get updated often, I have never had an IOS update outage for more than a day or two.
* I love this app. It’s perfect for a quick workout at home or at a gym for someone who has already learned good technique. * The only downside I see is that it doesn’t talk about technique. It does show quick snip videos of someone doing the exercises correctly but there’s no note of which muscles to focus on or how to distribute weight or stick the bum out/tuck it under, etc. I think this makes the app dangerous to those new to working out. * But I love that I can get out of bed and use the quick workout to get moving without having to think about which exercises to do or how many reps, etc. And it’s awesome that I can also make my own workouts for when I want to have it be a bit more focused on one area. I also love that I can see which muscle groups each exercise targets. The pro version of this is also much cheaper than a personal trainer or a boot camp class.
Works really well with the purchase of the in app items they offer. You may need to separate your cardio time based exercises from your weight based exercises because when you start the program to exercise, it only allows you to do time or reps. However if you know how many reps and sets you want to do then you can leave it on the time and just make sure you complete your reps in the amount of time you specified in the beginning. Things it would be nice is the ability to have different users within the same app. If it does have that I have not figured it out how to do it yet. The Virtual Trainer app is free but they get you by only giving you a few free exercises in each category or purchasing a premium subscription or purchasing the in app exercise groups. Overall very nice and simple to use.
