SpeakToSnooze Alarm Clock HD

I have been using “Speak to Snooze” on a daily basis for a long time. Recently, Jason implemented a new “feature” via an annoying “red bar” at the top of your display. I imagine that its purpose is to remind people that in order for the app to wake you up, it at least has to be running in the background. To me, this is just common sense, and I have never missed an appointment or failed to be woken by the app because I keep it running in the background whenever I need its alarm to work. But, even when I have no alarms pending or just after an alarm goes off and I stop the alarm, the red bar continues to annoy until you click on it so that it opens Speak to Snooze and you leave it running in the background. I hate this, and feel like I am being manipulated into leaving this app running all the time, which I don’t do for any app. I have sent “bug” requests to Jason at least a couple of times through the app in recent weeks, but the “red bar” persists, which means he has not addressed the problem. A simple solution would be to give users the ability to turn this annoying “feature” off via a settings switch when they are fully aware that the app must be running in the foreground, or at least the background in order for its alarm to work. This would apply to users like me. This application deserves five stars, but with this new “red bar feature,” and no ability to turn it off, I can’t give it more than a two stars in good conscience.

The customer service was unbelievable. I was having issues with the app and they responded within 24 hours. They worked diligently to correct the issue and did so along with pop up notifications of the new features. The app works great I like the updated themes and screen backgrounds. I didn’t know how to find the settings to adjust the brightness at night and was really disappointed, thank you for the pop up help tips. For those who didn’t figure it the settings box scrolls up to see ALL of the options. I like that you can set your M-F alarm and will send multiple notifications if you forget to leave the app open at night. I use this to set all types of alarms and reminders.

I'm super disappointed about this app. I've used it for forever (probably at least a year or so now) as an alarm because it played through my headphones when I had them plugged in instead of through the speakers. There are other people in my house that I don't want to disturb with a loud alarm. I have no idea why, but they removed this feature. Now even when you do have headphones plugged in, it appears to play through only the speaker. This seems pretty ridiculous, even for someone who doesn't doesn't mind having it aloud, since some people (myself included) have noise cancelling headphones that would block out the speaker sound. But whatever. I really loved this app, but it's totally useless to me now. I'm sure if you want it for the voice features or the big interface it'll work fine, but I'm going to have to remove it and find a new app now.
