If you have not chosen an alarm monitoring service, check first to see who monitors your installed system. Smartlink is not the best app. It is very frustrating to have an alarm app that simply doesn’t work well. I’ve had it for eight years and for some reason I keep hoping that it will improve. I really like my company that is local, and don’t want to switch to a national company. The issue is they do have to use a larger monitoring company. There’s no more local monitoring which would make it much easier. The app mostly says No Connection. I have to swipe up to close app and reopen. It will work after that but ridiculous to expect it to not work smoothly. Connection is usually slow, too.

We really liked this in the beginning. It helped us to make sure we had locked up because we had a habit of not doing that due to where we lived before. There was no need to lock up. Now where we live, it’s required because random people be checking doors. Once the pandemic started, we didn’t need to use the app as much since someone is ALWAYS home and the door stays locked, plus we’ve basically stopped using the front door. For the past several months, whenever the door has been used by our daughter, or my husband, the door gets left unlocked. I check to see if the door is locked and when I see it is, I try going into app to lock the door because I really don’t want to go down the stairs to go lock it, (I had knee surgery), but every time I get in the app to lock the door,it closes out just as soon as I press on it to open it. I’ve rest my phone, I’ve repeatedly checked for updates for the app, but nothing. Just super annoying to even have anymore since it doesn’t even open, but I keep holding onto it, hoping the app will work. What’s with the hold up????

I’m able to arm the system on my iPhone, but can only disarm using the phone if I power off and back on again. Worthless if I’m in the car or need to get the dogs out fast in the middle of the night. Wouldn’t have gotten this system had I known it was so unreliable. Sending a review is also a pain. I’ve tried to send almost a dozen times and it accepts no names.
