I picked this game up right after it first came out. It’s fun, and has an amazing art style, but I have two major gripes when it comes to this game. Firstly is the lag. Yes, I know this doesn’t apply to many, but I feel like this app has little support for older generations of tech, and struggles to keep an FPS value above 10 on older devices, even with lower graphical quality. (The devices in question are the IPhone 6 and IPad Air). For a 2D puzzle game, it has many performance issues. Secondly is the grind. I started off playing a few times a week, but then realized soon after that the real way to play is in large, daily sessions, gaining all possible resources, and getting high wonderland trial scores. This very quickly became boring, and once I got a few months into lvl 60, every single stage was the same (in exception to events). Although I didn’t enjoy the stages I was playing, I still did them in order to unlock the new character, or skin, or to try and unlock a new skin variant that I need for a combo. This is something that kills the casual player, and really can’t be helped without a full rework of the game. Overall, this grind took me away from the game, and I have just about abandoned it completely. I love this game, but casual players be warned, it is a commitment
Best game ever. I could stop there but no, I won’t. I know that I’m just repeating what other reviews are saying but I just have to say it myself. With unique and quirky animations, beautiful soundtracks and voice acting, engaging storyline, inventive gameplay and competitive daily missions, Sdorica creates a magnificent experience that keeps making me want more. Not only that but the game is free to play and also keeps maxed out players interested. People complain that the micro transactions are bad, but I disagree. It is not intended for you to spend a lot on this game and max out. The process of slowly grinding for summons is the whole point of gatchas and I believe Sdorica has done this perfectly. I don’t know why more people play this game and I hope that eventually it will become more well known. As long as the developers continue to release story and characters that are just as well done as the ones we already have, I will continue supporting Sdorica just as I have been doing and I hope that others will give it a try and experience it’s magnificence.
The production values on this game are just BONKERS. It's more polished than most top tier 3DS and Vita titles, with graphics that are simple yet clearly intentionally crafted for charm matching more detailed work... Only through a labor of love, I imagine, could they achieve beauty on par with a Vanillaware title using cut-out style graphics as they have. The soundtrack is even more stellar, with each track so far being on par with any triple A title and more appeal than I'm used to outside the PS2 generation... I'd pay to own it one iTunes, it's that good. I feel im not far enough in to make solid judgement of gameplay or story, but the tactical puzzle mechanic of combat is engaging if not novel enough to be engrossing, and the archtypically nailed expositional opening and In Meidas Res tutorial did a good job so far setting the stage for a nostalgic mythical feeling and interesting me in how the characters get to that point from where they start when you play the story from the beginning afterwards. For a F2P, I'd really say it would be foolish not to download this if you've any use for a solid tablet RPG... The game so far seems plenty generous enough for playing without paying a dime to be practical. That said, so much talented work clearly went into this, I've already made a token purchase, just because I'd feel guilty if I didn't... Work this great deserves rewarding. But that's just how I see it... DL it and decide for yourself.
