Scoreboard - On The Go

We played the game cornhole at a family get together over the weekend and used this basic little app for score keeping. And it worked perfectly. The only drawback to the original use was the default settings colored the separate teams blue and red. Our boards and bags have teams colored to red and white. But it still so well that it made the game much enjoyable not having to worry about keeping score in our head or some other more time consuming way. I later discovered the settings tab and figured out how to color the teams score tabs differently. We’ll be using those settings during future tournaments. So it was $.99 to purchase the ad free version of the app. One of the best dollars I’ve spent. Kudos to the good people who make this little app available. RECOMMENDED.

It does what it says but it’s also super easy to accidentally increment the score. You then have to go into an edit mode to fix it. I’d rather just have up/down buttons on each side and get rid of the edit mode. That would reduce accidental touches. Also, would be nice to be able to name the teams and save the name of your team. Example: my sons little league team name could be saved and I’d just enter the opponent’s name each game. The ability to upload a pic/logo would be a bonus.

The idea of this app is pretty useful, but the designers of the app did not execute it very well. First off, you can only have 2 teams/players, so if you want to keep track of 3 or more scores you can't. I would suggest adding the option where you can choose how many teams you are going to use. Then, there is a stopwatch on the game. This is pretty useful for some activities, but for others you may have a time limit, like for example 60 seconds. I think the app would be improved if the stopwatch was also a timer. Also, I do like the idea that you can change the background, but everytime you exit out if the app it resets which, personally, is a bit annoying. But overall, the biggest problem is there is WAY to many adds!!! I get that when you have a free app you have to have adds, but this literally gives you an add every 10th point you add, which is a bit excessive and annoying, especially when you playing a game like Scrabble where you could have many points being added at once. And yeah, to get adds taken off it's only $0.99, but I'd rather use a paper and pencil then this app anyways. Sorry! 😐
