Ride Bermuda

As a first-time tourist to Bermuda, I was excited to find this app, because despite the plethora of taxis on the island, it is very difficult to book anything unless you know someone already. And literally everything is coordinated through WhatsApp. I was able to set up my account easily enough. But when it came to actually booking a driver, there was never any confirmation and, absent confirmation on an important drive, I used one of my personal on-island contacts to recommend and connect me with somebody through WhatsApp and booked that driver. I tried to cancel the ride that I booked through this app, multiple times and hours in advance, but it errored out every time. There was no further support offered in the app. To my surprise, I received a call on WhatsApp from a driver at the appointed time, although that there was never any confirmation in the app of a driver being assigned. If I had not kept a screenshot of the errors I’d received when trying to cancel. I might’ve been charged for a drive I no longer needed. This app is not ready for primetime. And it is most certainly not Uber.

I’ve tried using this today and it will not accept the destination even though it comes up as an option! Waiting for the company to call me back and then maybe I will update … It used to work great in 2018 .

I have followed all instructions when the app is open called Bermuda Taxi and I do not see anywhere to update to the latest version.
