First, this service builds websites NOT apps. If you want a mobile app you will need to use another service. Unfortunately I was $300 in before I realized that. The $25 credit is easy to use up quickly. I feel like things are working and then I ask for a change and something breaks and I spend a lot of money having the AI try to fix it. It's not a scam, but the marketing is misleading and it's really too expensive to make it worth using. Hundreds of dollars of big regrets here.
I've been messing around with Replit lately, and honestly, as of early November 2025, it's still a game-changer for quick coding sessions-especially with that shiny new Agent 3 update from September that lets the AI handle way more autonomous stuff like full workflow automation and even debugging entire apps on its own, plus the fresh Google Cloud integration making deploys smoother than ever. Pros-wise, it's super beginner-friendly with no setup hassle, killer collab tools for teams, and access to tons of libraries right in the browser, so you can prototype a web app in minutes without touching your local machine. But man, the cons hit hard too-the free tier's resource caps feel stingy for anything beefy, that effort-based pricing is a total wildcard that spikes your bill out of nowhere, and while the AI agent's cool, it still glitches on complex logic sometimes, leaving you to clean up the mess. Overall, if you're into fast ideation or learning, Replit's worth the spin
Biggest scam ever, the agent constantly makes mistakes you'll spend most of your money trying to get it to fix errors that it caused in the first place. they raised their prices and it's unclear how usage cost are calculated. even with very precise prompts it still doesn't do what you want. there's better platforms out there and I won't spend another dime here again.
This app is horrible. I've spent over a hundred dollars on top of a subscription fee, and it still couldn't complete one app. I contacted customer care for help, and I was told they could help me cancel my account, but they couldn't do anything else. I never asked for a refund one time, but they continued to tell me we couldn't give you a refund, but we can help you cancel your account. After creating the same app twice and both continuously crashed. I'm so done. Avoid this app it's a money pit
I wanted to love this app and it is a legitimate app, its not a scam app, but their business practices are a scam. When you use the agent, it charges whether the agent does what you ask or not. You only get a certain amount of uses per month. Then theres all this shady fine print stuff. I purposely didn’t give my credit card and paid a monthly subscription so that I wouldn’t be charged more once I used up the monthly stuff that comes with the subscription, which is $26 by the way. So after I ran out of my $25 worth of service last month, it just charged me $2.84 even though I didn’t authorize it. Then they charged me for the next month for the entire subscription, but I still can’t use it because they can’t figure out how to deduct the $2.84 from this month, or get the app to stop charging you at its limit. It seems like scammy behavior to get you to add a credit card. I don’t have my credit card because I I’m not good at monitoring that kind of stuff and I don’t want it to accrue charges beyond the monthly subscription as they purposely set it up to take advantage of that. Their support will just cut and paste the terms to you, so they dont have to help you. Sucky company.
I’ve decided to cancel my subscription not because I believe Replit is a bad platform, but because I find a specific policy to be unfair and frustrating. Replit offers a lot of great tools for developers, especially for beginners and those working on small-scale projects. However, the way the credit system is handled doesn’t sit well with me. When you pay for a yearly subscription, there’s a reasonable expectation that certain core services like keeping your deployed website live should remain uninterrupted. Unfortunately, once you exhaust your monthly credits, your live site is taken down until you purchase additional credits. I understand limiting access to advanced features or blocking new deployments and edits when credits run out, but removing an already-deployed site from public view seems excessive and counterproductive. It feels more like a penalty than a fair limit, especially for users who have paid in advance for an entire year. A deployed site should remain online regardless of whether or not you can make changes to it until your next monthly credit cycle begins. I hope Replit considers adjusting this policy in the future, because the platform has so much potential but this kind of disruption can be a dealbreaker for many users.
