RefNet Christian Radio

I came across RefNet as I was looking for a Christian radio with depth and meat to it. Initially, I could tell this one was more of what I was looking for, but I was new to most of the teachers (including RC!) and knew almost nothing of reformed theology. Over time, I came to see the rich truths of these teachings that illuminated the Scripture and took me to deeper levels of understanding. My husband and I have since come to embrace reformed theology. Through this ministry, the Holy Spirit has drawn us closer to God in a much greater way and our love for and devotion to Him has grown immensely and continues to grow. My heart is full of thanksgiving for Ligonier and all who work to build God’s kingdom through it; and I’m especially thankful for RefNet, that I can tune in any time of day or night to feast on the rich meat of the Holy Word of God. Around 7 years ago, on my way to work, I was listening to a Christian program which I did every morning. Then one morning a guy came on my radio that I had never heard before, had no idea who he was or what he was talking about, but he was discussing the Reformation. Although I had no idea what this man was talking about I continued to listen. After listening to several of the programs I began to pick up the doctrine and that we were chosen by God before the beginning of time. About Martin Luther and John Calvin and it seemed that the meaning of the scriptures began to make more and more sense. (I was raised Pentecostal) Nothing made sense, I was always picking the daisy petals (He loves me, He loves me not) Even though I tried so hard to live and follow Christ I felt like I always fell and short. There were so many different beliefs and I would hear what may be wrong for you to do may be alright for someone else, I just couldn’t believe that, and I really couldn’t witness to anyone because I was t sure of myself. To make this short. God sent R.C. Sproul and Renewing Your Mind into my life to show me the Truth of the scriptures. I cannot stress enough of what Ligonier Ministries has meant to me, my life and belief has totally changed. When I talk to some of my friends they look at me as though I have joined a cult. When God opened my eyes to the truth of the Gospel it was like a huge puzzle just all came together and the scriptures began to take on a whole new meaning and has made more sense than anything I have been taught the past 40 plus years. I tell people I have been a Christian and wandered through the wilderness for 40 some years and just now began to ear and see the word of God. I thank RC and all those connected to Ligonier Ministries for coming on my radio 7 years ago, which was the hand of God and He used your Ministries to open my eyes and ears to really understand the scriptures. My heart broke when I learned that R.C. had went home to God in Dec., Just had to let you know what your Ministry has meant to me, a heavy burden was lifted from my shoulders. Thank you once again. R.C.’s book “Chosen By God” was the impetus to my understanding the Scripture’s doctrine of salvation. My life was changed forever. I miss R.C., but I am forever grateful for his book and also Ref Net where I can continue to hear him preach, as well as other trustworthy preachers. Also, as a stay at home mom, I don’t want to fiddle around trying to choose message after message all day long as each one comes to an end. With Ref Net, I just turn it on during breakfast and let it play all day. Even with the kids playing at my feet or the faucet running while I do the dishes, the Holy Spirit allows me to hear what I need to hear despite the background noise. My three year old has repeated some of R.C.’s words as she played at the table. Even kids benefit from this! I am grateful for Ref Net and have recommended it to many.
