PONS Translate & Dictionary

The best thing about this app is that it gives you lots of examples of how the word is used — not just a definition! I use it to know how native German speakers would use the word in everyday conversations or writing in order to decide whether the German translation of the English word I’m thinking about is appropriate.

This is a great and free online dictionary, based on the works of a real, reputable firm. The app has been good for years with many language options. However, the app has become less and less useful for me as ads for games pop up and cannot be exited from. About 50% of the time I use the app, I end up with one of these ads that then requires me to quit the app and restart it. These irritations have led me to consider deleting the app from my phone. I use it much less than I used to now.

The text translations of Pons are 100% better than Google Translate. I use Pons mostly for translating text from Spanish to English. It's a great help for short sentences as well as the Spanish dictionary and thorough explanation of different meanings. Highly recommend
