Awesome game, slow progression

Iโ€™ve been looking for a game like this for so long, and the fact that I can play with my friends is hands down the best feature. So much so that I actually think itโ€™s not utilized to itโ€™s full potential. I have this amazing city with my girlfriend, weโ€™ve been playing for months at this point. Once you reach a certain level and want to upgrade buildings, things really start to slow down. Build times go to 4-48 hours, leaving actual play time to about 10 minutes in app and waiting for the builders to do their thing. Iโ€™d love to see maybe some mini games, some 1v1 city events. Even disasters? Also the events seem to be terribly set up. One city is always 100โ€™s points ahead of every other plex, almost impossible to get those stats and half the people in a plex are inactive leaving me in the dump no matter how hard I try. Something to keep me on the app longer while I wait to get to upgrades is really what Iโ€™m asking. Itโ€™s an amazing app and I see my self playing it for a long time!
