Photo Lab PROHD picture editor

I’ve had photolab plus since it was still in beta stage. I adore my photolab plus! I am heart broken, though. When I first got the app, it was just getting started and offered a fantastic lifetime membership, which, I jumped on! I went to town editing. I uploaded some hand drawn images and WOW! I wish I could post the results! I began making fantasy portraits for folks, then posted the link for them to join, recruiting tons of folks. The app was new and I am one heck of a recruiter! A couple of years ago now, my iPad mini updated & I was logged out. I log back in, my pictures were gone. Also gone, my paid membership! I was offered to purchase a subscription. I have tried to get answers. One customer service person even told me that the offer I spoke of never happened! Well, that’s real funny, since I used it for years! I still use the app & still love it, but am heart broken. I still have the emails saved. I was told they needed the email that I signed up with. I haven’t change my email in 15 years.. Still, nothing has happened or been followed up on. The app insists I pay a membership now when I’m a lifetime member!

I first gave this app 5 stars because it was great and I got so much enjoyment out of it. But then when I started to apply the apps that require pictures from the Internet my problems began. I would work out an entire photo and save it to my camera roll however when I tried to put it in the feed to share error messages came up over and over and over again. I contacted the developer and they worked on it and couldn’t see what the problem was. Then is if that wasn’t bad enough one day my entire profile of pictures disappeared I wrote the developer again I guess they worked on it for a few days and said we recovered all 187 of your profile pictures. Well apparently they can see something that I couldn’t because I only counted 10 profile pictures that had been returned. So I start all over again it’s very very disappointing because they can’t seem to give me an answer for what the problem is. Anyone else have this problem? When I apply and effect that requires the Internet pictures I can count on getting an error message so what I have to do is save it to my camera roll and then pull it up again and put it into the feed that way. If you were to look at my original it would look the same I’m very very disappointed.

I tried a few similar apps (free) before determining I liked photolab best and deciding to invest a few bucks into the paid version. Worth every penny. So much fun, endless options, fun to share! I have two complaints: 1) there’s no way to better organize or search for filters. So if remember part of the filter name I have to spend 5 minutes finding it because I can’t remember if it’s considered a lighting effect or an overlay, a simple border or a frame or an “amazing frame”. There are just too many filters for them to not be searchable or broken down in some other way. 2) it’s cumbersome to preview different filter/effects on a photo, there’s no way to do it quickly. It’s somewhat easier to try different photos with the same filter/effect (because you choose your effect first, then the photo you want to apply it to; I think it should work the other way around). Once you’ve processed an effect on a picture it gives you a way to more easily preview ADDITIONAL filters and effects on the same altered picture, but I wish that option was there from the get-go for photos that haven’t already been run through at least one filter. So it can get frustrating and I think ultimately takes too long to make your masterpiece if you are experimenting. Still a lot of fun though with some pretty cool results.
