I booked a trip to Thailand. First class. I spent $18,000. I canceled 2 of the 5 flights I booked and rebooked those 2 flights. I was told and emailed a refund confirmation. It has been 10 months with no refund. I have been getting the run around that they are โinvestigating โ my refund. I have submitted bank statements proving I never was refunded. They then claimed the refund was the airlines responsibility. Not true! Orbitz is a third party that is responsible for refunding my money. I posted on social media regarding this situation. I have had multiple customers reply to my post claiming Orbitz is a rip off and they donโt refund money for cancellations even when promised to do so. They stated that Orbitz blames the airline which is exactly what is happening to me now. Furthermore, several ex employees of Orbitz said this is standard business for Orbitz to have their employees drag out the refund process until the customer gives up on the refund. Absolutely disgusting. Orbitz is a company that takes advantage of people. They mislead, lie, misinform and blow off customers to keep their money. DO NOT USE ORBITZ! Book your trip directly through the airlines and hotels. DO NOT USE ORBITZ! You will never get your money back for cancellations. I have emails. Documentation of my refund promised but never given. Yet the airline owes me money. Yet my attorney says that Orbitz is the responsible party. DO NOT USE ORBITZ!
First of all Iโm a loyal customer to Orbitz I always use their services when it comes to my travels needs but not until March 17,2021 when I purchased car rental along with the insurance. When I tried to pick up my car at Payless in San Diego they said that they are franchise so they donโt take any car insurance from what orbitz has offer. They even told me to call orbitz to get the refund so I did call right away and they submitted the refund request. After 12 days I called them back to follow up on my refund the customer service from orbitz has no record at all on my case so they put me on hold for so long so they can contact Payless in San Diego they said that they never respond. I told them I paid orbitz why not just refund my money they said that they need to confirm with Payless. So they called again and emailed but no response. She ended up told me that once she receives an email from Payless they will refund right away just wait for an email. So Itโs almost a month now I called them again to find out what is the status of my refund guess what same answer from Orbitz customer service no record at all on my 2 conversation and I had to go through the same process that they did before. This company is Horrible with their customer service!!!! they put me on hold again waited for more than 30 minutes still no refund.
After spending s few days researching the hotels, it became obvious that I needed to book soon. Using a wireless PC, I spent about 3 days in a row trying to book the trip, only to see error messages about technical difficulties. We had a power outage and I was using the phone app. It was working, except not showing where I could select โnonstopโ flights. Again, having major problems getting the trip booked. Every time Iโd go thru the process to book the trip, an error message would say that one of my flights just got sold out. This was in error!! What was happening was that the flights and 3 trips were charged to my card, when the message said they were sold out. Consequently, I missed out on getting the flight time that I wanted, because the others said they were sold out. Not happy with this at all. If anyone is able to rectify this (and now the hotel is showing as less expensive), please advise ASAP.
