Octopus - Driver

As a driver who’s had the app and tablet long before the journeyTV update and as someone who has accumulated over 10,000 points with the tablet I can personally say the app and overall experience has gone down drastically. This will make the second time my account has not had the accurate number of points added to my account. It stopped correctly adding points as of February 5th. I’ve reached out to support for the second time. The first time they claimed my points were up to date after they magically added 30 points to my account yet I’ve done 154 trips since February 2nd, 2026. So since February 2, 30 points were added then on February 15th it updated again and still shows 162.5 points. So where the other 201 points are I have no idea. But don’t expect help from support because I have screenshots to show trip count from my uber app and screenshots from the octopus app that shows the lack of points being added but you can only send one screenshot with the help ticket. The app is updated and has been. The tablet is on and mounted correctly. My octopus account is linked to my uber account and has been since I got it back in 2024. So I know it’s none of those issues. If the problem isn’t resolved after this support ticket I’ll be sending the tablet back and not referring anyone to use the tablet and I’ll be sure to inform other drivers to carefully watch their points to ensure they too are not being denied the proper points we had earned as part of the agreement with play octopus. It’s been a great experience for most of my riders but honestly I can offer the a better experience with my own tablet based on customer feedback that will result in higher tip payouts if the problem isn’t resolved. I’d like to keep the tablet because it does offer a fun experience for my riders but as someone who uses the tablet as a form of extra income which play octopus has acknowledged in the past, I can’t see myself keeping it if the problem persists.

To other drivers: Fact: you will get $25 every week... Fact: and more tips… But: it's all on you to earn it! Do you do 50 rides a week (or more?) Once you get the tablet is always Set up & plugged in? Turned on? I leave my tablet volume low & try & mention the tablet to the passenger as long as they get into the seat (passenger side) that faces the tablet... I also use a post it (I could use a 2nd tablet,🤑then 100% of my passengers get eyes on our tablet) To Octopus I have nothing bad to say, only that there is potential to go further... with the assistance of the driver & with the Company adding tech/features to the next version of tablets. I have seen how engaged passengers are the more they can do on the tablet! The more access they have to more then 1 game of course, but also with maps (reservations or check-ins/tickets!) If our tablets had Neighborhood & City News (events, event tracking, check future Traffic... Like you can weather... See what Restaurants are voted best in that city by drivers who kive in that city. City Facts and Electronic Business cards... Ect. Ect. I could go on! Room for growth ya’mean? 1.

Play Octopus is a great asset to rideshare drivers. It’s some extra money for doing what they are already doing. In 5 years of part-time driving, I’ve earned $1200 extra for just turning it on and having the tablet charged. Octopus has over 3000 drivers who have earned more than me and many in less time. My passengers love the games and it costs me nothing to have it in my car. My riders tend to tip a little more often and give good ratings. Octopus offers contests for the drivers and a referral bonus for signing up new drivers. Another review mentions not getting paid…. I’ve never had an issue being paid. However, some drivers don’t realize that payouts are not automatic. You need to login and press cashout.
