This app is unbearable. It has features that look helpful to begin with, but very quickly break and stay broken. When I first got the app I thought the chat function would be teeming with students getting to know each other, but I was quickly informed that the Blocks, Floors and Flats all immediately made groupchats on other apps because this one is almost completely unusable. For instance, why do I need a notification to inform me that somebody sent a message to a group chat if I am that somebody? Why does the page jump down and bug every time I click tap away from the keyboard? Why are messages initially not sending at all, and then sending all at once like a printer from the mid-2000s? My suggestion would be to scrap the chat function and have a function where people can put their social media handles their profiles so people can add each other there. I haven’t even moved in yet, but it really doesn’t set a good precedent. If the app struggles with sending a message into a group of 5 people, how could I reasonably expect it to stay in one piece when it comes to it’s more important uses later down the line?
I personally have not had any problems with the app. It does all its jobs well and consistently. I only had a once-occurring issue where the Laundry section wouldn’t let me add money so that I could do my laundry. Upon checking my banking app, it was evident that the app didn’t take any of the money I had attempted to add, which I was very much glad about. I decided to try again later and it ended up working perfectly fine as usual the next day, and for the rest of my time at my property. The uChat function is a very nice touch as it allowed me to talk to my flatmates and get to know them a bit before moving in. As someone who is generally quite anxious about meeting new people, this was definitely appreciated. The sections for maintenance, noise complaints, and other issues also work as expected - whether the issues at hand will be resolved is obviously up to the staff of whatever Unite Student property you’re staying at, not the app ^_^ Overall, it’s a very good app which has practically never given me problems.
It's a potentially good looking app. They are trying their best to make it look great. As of yesterday only checkin related details and chat option were available. But developer, after the update today, the app is not opening up. It just is in the loading screen. I know you guys will fix it so no push for it. Great work tho.
