This is why I love scouring AppRaven. I’m an app H0E and consistently try to find hidden gems. I can count on one hand how many times in the last 10+ years I’ve been truly blown away by an app. MyMind, hands down, makes top three. There just isn’t anything comparable to it. I also NEVER write reviews but this one’s too good not to share. The mind I live with is a disorganized network of thoughts. Unrelenting responsibilities and commitments and pressing to-dos of today (and likely leftover ones from yesterday) topple personal aspirations and creative ideas I’m so eager to explore. My short term memory has about a 4.2 second turnover rate before I switch thoughts and completely abandon the one I was just at. A suffering working memory, struggling initiative, and projects never really followed through to completion. MyMind streamlines my mental ledger and provides me with a beautifully organized filing system. Its takes the a clobberf*€k of thoughts busting at the seams and breaks them up into attractive little categorized “spaces”. I don’t have to have ALL the mental tabs open at once and feel paralyzed about where even to begin. I can simply clear the table and start with a single Space. A fleeting memory no longer debilitates my progress; every passing thought (or 2am rabbit hole I’ve gone down) is visually recorded there. I’m no longer losing time trying to walk back where I left off and find related material. This app restrategized mental organization and completely changed the time management game and I love it. Thank you 🙏🏽
I wasn’t sure if this app would really execute on its concept but after putting my faith in it for about 2 weeks it has slowly become what it said it would be. Once you save enough things, you can search for pretty much anything and it’ll come up. The automatic tagging system is actually quite good at picking up on patterns and associations in searches once you give it enough info to work with. It was strange watching it transform. It was like the moment the music streaming service’s algorithm finally starts tol play good music. I realized I can just dump stuff into this thing and anytime I want to find something of a particular kind later, it will be there to pop up. It took awhile to really get the concept. It’s not google images but it is a personal google images for images you have added. Which doesn’t mean much until after you’ve added like at least a couple dozen things. It has a strange learning curve but I think I see the potential value in it.
I really enjoy using this app. I like using the app to write down things I want to remember to look into and it works pretty well overall. There’s a few features that I think could really be useful for navigating the app and just stuff I think would be neat. A filter-by function within the main page and the search engine would make it even easier to find notes your looking for. Being able to pin notes of great importance to the top of your main page would be a god-send if you don’t want to go through the hassle of searching. And something I just think would be really cool is a linked notes function, so that the notes can build off eachother, think something like email reply chains. Looking forward to seeing more developments and again, i’d really love to see any of these features!
